  • I really don't get what the big deal about the scanners is. It's not like the people watching the screen know who you are, care about what your body looks like, or can even see your face.

  • The scanners don't bother me on a privacy level, but the radiation factor does make me nervous. TSA isn't getting jollies out of it

  • Why would your SIL want to make her home gluten free if nobody in the house is intolerant? She sounds like a loon. And what's up with "diaper free"? She must be cleaning the carpets and furniture constantly.

  • I have to agree a bit with this perspective, now that I think about it. When I was in the first weeks of motherhood on maternity leave, and I was home alone with her - it was very hard. She was collicky and cried all the time, and I was bored and felt tethered.

  • Yes! I thought her criticism of Madonna and Angelina was way out of line. They are in the position of being able to help these children, so why not? I don't think there's anything narcissistic about it. I don't get her rationale for that mean-spirited comment at all.

  • I think in the first few months of being a new mom, everyone feels a bit like they have to do everything as The Experts say you do. But then you realize that "good enough" is indeed... good enough. Women who worry about what others think of their parenting style have self-esteem issues.
